British Championships 2010
As some of you will be aware this year’s British Ice Skating championships took place in Sheffield at the end of November. SIFC was very proud to have 3 of our own skaters taking part. Vicky Jackson and Carmen Lee both competing in the Novice level competition and Isabella Larkin competing in the Junior level.
All the girls did extremely well, sadly Vicky developed a sickness bug on the trip up to Sheffield and was ill throughout the competition however in true athletic spirit she continued to skate and finished in a very respectable 25th place.
Carmen Lee skated at the Novice for the 2nd year running and climbed several places on last year’s result to finish in Bronze medal position.
At Junior level Isabella Larkin , last year’s Novice champion, competed for the first time and did extremely well finishing in 5th place overall.
We congratulate all 3 girls on their achievements and wish them all the success for the coming year
.

JORDAN CAPTAINS ENGLAND AT THE NISA CUP
Every year England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland each put a team together of skaters from Levels 7 through to 10 to compete for the NISA CUP. Jordan qualified to skate for England at the Telford Open in March this year. Doing the NISA Cup, skating for England and being made captain was a great achievement and well deserved.
Last year Jordan was also a member of the team when it took place at Lee Valley, London and England won. This year the NISA CUP took place in Aberdeen, Scotland. It was a brilliant event with Scotland winning the competition and England coming second. It was well supported from every country, everyone was very friendly and there was lots of high team spirits, flag waving and cheering unlike any other skating competition!

WELL DONE JORDAN
